This tour is a combination of the tour Morondava – Tsingy of Bemaraha and the tour up from the south to Antananarivo by the RN7 but extended with the off-road along the west coast from Morondava to Tulear and also to the kingdom of lemur in the east. It could be done also in the opposite way according to your wish.

ITINERARY :

DAY 1 : ANTANANARIVO – ANTSIRABE

Meet and greet at the airport or at your hotel, then pick up and drive straight to Antsirabe. Stop
at Ambatolampy town for a short visit of aluminum pots factory based in recycling. Then
Continuation of the drive. Arrival in Antsirabe, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 : ANTSIRABE – MORONDAVA

Full day drive from Antsirabe to Morondava. The landscape will change almost every hundred
kilometers from terracing ricepadies to dry hills. Stop in some village to see gold miners. Lunch
at Miandrivazo town before continuing the trip through more African sceneries with nice view
on big rivers. Upon arrival, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 : MORONDAVA – BEKOPAKA

Day full of adventure to reach Bekopaka village. Crossing Tsiribihina river by ferry then stop at
Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town for lunch. After lunch, continuation to destination with another ferry
to cross at Manambolo river before arriving to Bekopaka village. Hotel check-in, dinner and
overnight.

DAY 4 : BEKOPAKA

Morning river trip at Manambolo river to see caves, stalactites, stalagmites and old tombs of
Vazimba people. Then visit of the small Tsingy to explore this magnificent Tsingy pinnacle (one
of Unesco World Heritage). After the visit, drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 : BEKOPAKA – MORONDAVA

After breakfast, drive back to Morondava town with stop at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town for lunch.
Continuation of the drive with stop at the sacred Baobab in Kirindy, at the Baobab in love and
at the Baobab avenue for sunset photography. Then continuation until destination, dinner and
overnight.

DAY 6 : MORONDAVA – BELO-SUR-MER

Morning drive to Belo sur mer in the South. The journey will be through an adventurous road
with some crossings on rivers without bridges, sands, bushes. Arrival in Belo-sur-Mer, hotel
check-in then visit of Kirindy Mitea NP to see flamingoes and other aquatic birds. Picnic lunch
and afternoon walk arround this nice fishermen village to see their daily occupations. We may
also see some men working on boat constructions. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 : BELO-SUR-MER – MOROMBE

Morning drive from Belo-sur-Mer to reach the town of Morombe. Passing through the town of
Manja where we will have lunch then cross Mangoky river on a ferry in the afternoon. Upon
arrival in Morombe, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 : MOROMBE – ANDAVADOAKA

After breakfast, leave Morombe in direction of Andavadoaka. The road is more enjoyable with
amazing shape of baobabs and the spectacular spiny forest of the South West. Upon arrival,
hotel check-in and afternoon relax. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 9 : ANDAVADOAKA

Day at leisure in Andavadoaka. Optional activities are available at the hotel (snorkeling,
diving, whale watching…)

DAY 10 : ANDAVADOAKA – MANGILY

After breakfast, leave the village of Andavadoaka and drive to Mangily. In the afternoon, visit
at Reniala forest to see different shape of the Baobab and other succulent and to learn about
the plant of the south of Madagascar.

DAY 11 : MANGILY – RANOHIRA

Leave the village of Mangily to join Isalo national park passing through the town of Tulear and
see by the way some Mahafaly tombs with their totems carved from Aloalo on the road. Then
via Ilakaka, the saphir town through the desert landscape. Hotel check-in, afternoon free.
Dinner and overnight.

DAY 12 : RANOHIRA

Half day hike at Isalo National Park to see different landscape of the massif. Reach the canyon
and forest of Namaza, enjoy the natural swimming pool and waterfall inside the massif. You
can bring your swimming clothes. We will find some species of lemurs like the dancing lemur
and the ringtailed lemur. Picnic lunch inside the park then drive back to the hotel.

DAY 13 : RANOHIRA – TSARANORO VALLEY

Leave the village of Ranohira to reach Andringitra national park. Cross the huge grassy
plateaux of Ihorombe through the landscape of African savannah and the town of Ihosy.
Continuation until destination.

DAY 14 : TSARANORO VALLEY

After breakfast, hike at Tsaranoro valley surroundings to enjoy its beautiful landscape and
conquer chameleon’s peak. Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 15 : TSARANORO VALLEY – RANOMAFANA

Leave Andringitra National Park to reach Ranomafana national park to admire the landscape
from another angle. Stop for a short visit at Anja community reserve to see groups of ringtailed
lemur. We will go through Ambalavao, a beautiful town where is the biggest zebu market in
Madagascar and Fianarantsoa city, the capital of the Betsileo tribe well known for being
invincible. Check-in at the hotel on arrival. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 16 : RANOMAFANA

Half day dedicated to enjoy this beautiful rainforest of Ranomafana National Park with a local
guide to explore the nature and see some species of lemurs, reptiles and birds. This park has
twelve species of lemurs and high number of endemic birds, reptiles and amphibians. In the
afternoon, visit of the Tanala village at Ambodipaiso to see their daily life and to know more
about their custom and tradition.

DAY 17 : RANOMAFANA – ANTSIRABE

Morning drive from Ranomafana NP to Antsirabe. Spectacular scenery awaits your look
throughout the road, the rice fields in terrace along the hills and traditional houses of the
Betsileo tribe. Stop at Ambositra town, the center of Malagasy craft to visit some whorkshop
of marquetry and woodcarvings of the Zafimaniry tribe. Then lunch and continuation until
destination.

DAY 18 : ANTSIRABE – ANDASIBE NP

Full day drive from Antsirabe to reach Andasibe NP passing through Antananarivo where to
have lunch. After lunch, continuation of the drive. Stop at Peyrieras reserve to see reptiles and
amphibians… Continuation until destination. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 19 : ANDASIBE NP

After breakfast, drive to the entrance of the park then start the hike at Andasibe-Analamazaotra
NP to spot lemurs (more than 5 diurnal species) and is the best place to see Indri Indri, the
largest living lemur. In the afternoon, drive to Vakona forest to see more species of lemurs.
Late in the afternoon, evening walk accompanied by a local guide to spot nocturnal lemurs
like mouse lemur the smallest one…, frogs, chameleons… Dinner and overnight.

DAY 20 : ANDASIBE NP – ANTANANARIVO

Drive back to Antananarivo. Transfer to the airport or at your hotel.
