Discover Morondava and the Tsingy of Bemaraha NP

The famous Baobab Avenue, the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park, which is a unique geological formation and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Kirindy Forest, home to diverse wildlife and unique flora, are the main attractions of the western part of Madagascar.

Itinerary:

Day 1: YOUR COUNTRY – ANTANANARIVO
Arrival in Antananarivo at the international airport, meet and greet, then pick up and transfer to the hotel. Hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight

Day 2: ANTANANARIVO – MIANDRIVAZO
After breakfast, drive straight to Miandrivazo town, with a lunch stop in Antsirabe. After lunch, continue the drive until your destination. The landscape will change almost every hundred kilometers, from terracing rice paddies to dry hills. We will see gold miners in some villages. Arrival in the evening; hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: MIANDRIVAZO – KIRINDY FOREST
After breakfast, drive to Kirindy Forest. See, by the way, more African scenery with nice views of big rivers. Stop for lunch in Morondava, then continue with a stop at Baobab Avenue for pictures. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Late in the afternoon or evening, walk accompanied by
a local guide into the forest to spot several species of nocturnal lemurs, like the mouse lemur, the red-tailed sportive lemur, reptiles, and nocturnal birds. After the visit, go back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: KIRINDY FOREST – BEKOPAKA
Morning guided walk into the dry deciduous forest of Kirindy to see both species of diurnal lemurs and birds and learn about the plants of this dry forest and their importance in Malagasy life. If lucky, there is a possibility to meet the Fosa (known as the largest carnivorous animals of the island) in nature. After the visit, drive to Bekopaka village. Crossing the Tsiribihina River on a ferry, then stopping at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town for lunch. After lunch, continue to your destination with another ferry to cross the Manambolo River before arriving at Bekopaka village. Hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: TSINGY OF BEMARAHA NP
Morning river trip at Manambolo River to see caves, stalactites, stalagmites, and old tombs of Vazimba people. Then drive to the big Tsingy to explore this magnificent Tsingy pinnacle (one of the Unesco World Heritage Sites). After the visit, drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: BEKOPAKA – MORONDAVA
After breakfast, leave Bekopaka village to reach Morondava. Stop at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town for lunch, then cross the ferry and continue the drive to catch the sunset at Baobab Avenue. After sunset, continue until Morondava. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: MORONDAVA – ANTSIRABE
Full-day drive from Morondava to reach Antsirabe city. Stop at Miandrivazo town for lunch, then continue until the destination. Upon arrival, hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 8: ANTSIRABE – ANTANANARIVO
After breakfast, a morning city tour in Antsirabe, then lunch. After lunch, reach the capital with a stop at Ambatolampy town to visit the aluminum pot factory based on recycling. They produce different kitchen utensils and decorations. Then, continue until the destination. Hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight.
