This trip will take you to the West part of the country, cross Tsiribihina river and Manambolo river by ferry and climb up the Tsingy of Bemaraha (UNESCO World Heritage). This region is famous for its Baobab avenue, Kirindy forest’s wildlife and the Tsingy.

ITINERARY :

DAY 1 : ANTANANARIVO

Welcoming at the international airport of Antananarivo, meet and greet, then transfer to the hotel. Check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 : ANTANANARIVO – ANTSIRABE

Morning drive from Antananarivo to Antsirabe via RN7. Stop en route for a short visit of a workshop wich works on different kitchen utensil made from aluminium recycling at Ambatolampy. Antsirabe is famous for its thermal pool which is rich in healing properties. The town also attracts tourists and locals due to its cool climate and location. And capital of rickshaws and beer, THB the local beer. On arrival, city tour then hotel check-in and installation. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 : ANTSIRABE – MORONDAVA

Full day drive along the RN34 and RN35 from the center to the west coast in Morondava. Passing through small villages of stone cutter, gold miners with some view on big rivers. You will start to see baobab trees with rice fields near Morondava town in the West. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 : MORONDAVA – KIRINDY FOREST

Morning relaxation in Morondava. After lunch, drive north to join Kirindy Forest with some stop at the Baobab avenue for pictures and the Sacred baobab. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Late in the afternoon, evening walk accompanied by the local guide to spot nocturnal lemurs like mouse lemur, sportive lemur…, chameleons and birds. Then go back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 : KIRINDY FOREST – BEKOPAKA

Morning walk in the forest to spot the two diurnal species of lemurs as the brown lemur and the dancing sifaka. Then drive to Bekopaka village. Crossing Tsiribihina river in a ferry then stop at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town for lunch. After lunch, continuation to destination with another ferry to cross at Manambolo river before arriving to Bekopaka village. Hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 : BEKOPAKA

Day to visit the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park. Start with a morning excursion on the river with a dugout canoe in the Manambolo gorge to see caves of stalactites, stalagmites and old tombs of Vazimba people. Then reach the big Tsingy to explore this magnificent Tsingy pinnacle (one of Unesco World Heritage) wich is one hour from the village of Bekopaka. Accompanied by a local guide, explore the Tsingy, high between 30 and 50 m. Walkways and wooden bridges, well integrated into the landscape, will help you to continue your visit more easily. It takes about 4 hours walk and climb. Picnic lunch inside the park, then back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 : BEKOPAKA – MORONDAVA

After breakfast, leave Bekopaka village to reach back Morondava. Stop at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town for lunch then crossing Tsiribihina river in a ferry and continuation of the drive to the Lover’s baobab then catch the sunset at the Baobab avenue. After sunset, continuation until Morondava. Hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 : MORONDAVA – ANTSIRABE

Early in the morning, departure from Morondava to reach Antsirabe for about 10 hours drive. Stop in Miandrivazo town for lunch then continuation until destination. Upon arrival, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 9 : ANTSIRABE – ANTANANARIVO

Drive back to Antananarivo. Lunch en route then visit of the King Palace or The souvenir market to buy some souvenir. Transfer to the hotel or to the airport.
