This tour is a combination of the tour Morondava – Tsingy of Bemaraha and the tour down to the south by the RN7 but extended with the off-road along the west coast from Morondava to Tulear and also to the kingdom of lemur in the east. It can be done also in the opposite way according to your wish.

Itineraries

Day 1

Antananarivo

Welcoming at the international Airport, support and pick-up then transfert to the hotel.

Day 2

Antananarivo - Antsirabe

Pick up at the hotel in the morning, drive to Antsirabe along the RN7 for about 4 hours drive. Stop at Ambatolampy for a short visit of workshop wich works on different kitchen ustensil made from aluminium. Continuation until destination. Stop for lunch. After lunch visit of Tritriva lake, a superb crater lake situated at 17 km from the city. It has an interesting story of two lovers that reminds you the story of Romeo and Juliette. And Andraikiba lake, a nice peaceful place to take some walk and to enjoy the typical volcanic landscape of the Vakinankaratra region. Antsirabe is famous for its thermal pools which are rich in healing properties. The town attracts also tourists and locals due to its cool climate and location. And the capital of rickshaws and beer, THB the local beer. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Antsirabe - Morondava

Full day drive along the RN34 and RN35 from the center to the west coast in Morondava. Passing through small villages, gold miners, view on big rivers. You will start to see baobab trees with rice fields near Morondava town in the West. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Morondava - Kirindy Forest

Drive from Morondava to Kirindy forest. Stop at the Baobab avenue and the sacred baobab for pictures. Afternoon free before a nightwalk in the forest to spot some nocturnal lemurs and nocturnal birds. Drive back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Kirindy Forest - Bekopaka

Morning walk in the forest to spot some diurnal lemurs then breakfast and drive from to Bekopaka village. Stop at the Baobab Avenue for pictures. Crossing the Tsiribihina river by ferry boat, and lunch at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina town then continuation until the destination with another ferry boat to cross before arriving. Hotel check-in on arrival. Dinner and night in the hotel.

Day 6

Bekopaka

Visit of the Tsingy of Bemaraha NP. Start with a morning excursion on the river with a dugout canoe in the Manambolo gorge to see caves of stalactites and old tombs of Vazimba people. It takes about 1 hour 30 mn then reach the Big Tsingy by car, wich is 1 hour from the village of Bekopaka. Accompagnied by a local guide, explore the Tsingy, high between 30 and 50m. The visit takes about 4 hours. Picnic lunch inside the park, then back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Bekopaka - Morondava

After breakfast, drive back to reach Morondava. Stop at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina for lunch, then continuation to Morondava with some stop to see the Lover’s baobab and sunset at the Baobab Avenue. Continuation to Morondava. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Morondava - Belo-sur-Mer

After breakfast, leave Morondava to join Belo-sur-Mer. The real adventure start from here. Belo-sur-Mer is a small village, quiet place situated in the west coast about 100 km south of Morondava. Specialized in boat construction and salt making. It is a nice place to visit and stay. The drive takes arround 5 hours. On arrival, hotel check-in and afternoon free. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9

Belo-sur-Mer - Manja

Leave Belo-sur-Mer to join the village of Manja in a dirt road for about 5 hours drive. On arrival, hotel check-in then afternoon free. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10

Manja - Andavadoaka

Leave the village of Manja to reach Andavadoaka village. After few hours drive, crossing Mangoky river by ferry boat to join the town of Morombe then continuation until Andavadoaka. Beautiful shape of the dancing baobab on the road will amazed you. On arrival, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight

Day 11

Andavadoaka - Salary

Continuation of the adventure to Salary, it is a small fisherman village. Nice view on the lagoon and dunes on the road. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Lunch and afternoon free. Dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Salary

Day at leisure at Salary. Several sea activities are available at the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 13

Salary - Ifaty

Morning drive from Salary to join Ifaty still on sandy road and spiny forest. On arrival, hotel check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, visit of the Baobab forest to see different species of baobab trees, birds, tortoise and different medicinal plants. Dinner and overnight.

Day 14

Ifaty - Ranohira

Morning drive from ifaty to join Ranohira via Ilakaka the saphir town through the desert landscape. On arrival, hotel check-in overnight

Day 15

Ranohira

Full day excursion at Isalo National Park to see different landscape of the massif and reach the canyon and forest of Namaza, enjoy the natural swimming pool and waterfall inside the massif. The walk takes about 6 hours then will have picnic lunch inside the park. Then drive back to the hotel. In the afternoon, sunset at the window of Isalo. Dinner and overnight.

Day 16

Ranohira - Tsaranoro Valley

Departure to Tsaranoro valley driving throughout the famous Ihorombe plateau and via Ihosy the capital of the Bara tribe. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight.

Day 17

Tsaranoro Valley

Trekking at Andringitra NP to conquer the mont Cameleon, enter the corridors of Tsaranoro among the huge blocks and a luxurious vegetation. Picnic lunch inside the park then go back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 18

Tsaranoro Valley - Ranomafana NP

Leave Tsaranoro valley to reach Ranomafana NP passing through Ambalavao village where we will visit workshops of silkweaver and the Antemoro paper. Then continuation to Ranomafana NP through Fianarantsoa, the capital of the Betsileo tribe where we will have lunch. On arrival, hotel check-in then nightwalk accompagnied by a guide to spot some nocturnal lemurs, chameleons and frogs. Dinner and overnight.

Day 19

Ranomafana NP

Morning hike at Ranomafana National Park with a local guide to explore the nature and see some species of lemurs, reptiles and birds. This park has twelve species of lemurs and high number of endemic birds, reptiles and amphibians. After the hike, back to the hotel for lunch and afternoon at leisure. Possibility to swim at the thermal pool near the village. Dinner and overnight.

Day 20

Ranomafana NP - Antsirabe

Morning drive from Ranomafana NP to reach Antsirabe city. Stop at Ambositra, the capital of woodcarving and marquettery of the Zafimaniry tribe for a visit and lunch. Continuation to destination with spectacular scennery of ricefields in terrace along the hills and traditional houses of the Betsileo tribe. On arrival, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 21

Antsirabe - Andasibe NP

Morning drive from Antsirabe to reach the kingdom of lemur. Stop at Madagascar exotic park to see different species of chameleons, frogs and other exotic animals. Then continuation until destination. On arrival, hotel check-in. Late in the afternoon, nightwalk with a local guide to spot some nocturnal lemurs, chameleons, frogs... Then go back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 22

Andasibe NP

Morning walk at Perinet reserve (Analamazaotra national park) with a local guide to see the largest living species of lemur called Indri Indri as well as other species, reptiles and birds. Back to the hotel for lunch then drive to Vakona Private Reserve to see more species of lemur in their lemurs island, crocodile and aquatic birds. Drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 23

Andasibe NP - Antananarivo

Morning drive from Andasibe to reach the capital. Lunch en route then drive to the Queen Palace called Rova of Manjakamiadana to know more about Madagascar history and to enjoy the view of the city. Then drive to the hotel. END OF THE PROGRAM
