Antsirabe is the third biggest city of Madagascar. Situated at 167 km from the capital, it is a lovely city, famous for its thermal pool and attracts many tourists and locals due to its cool climate and location. On this tour, you will discover the local tradition of aluminium pot making, silk-weaving, zebu horn carving, miniatures car and bike making, stone cutting. Hike arround 3 lakes and enjoy the magnificent volcanic landscape of the Vakinankaratra region.

Itineraries

DAY 1
Antananarivo – Antsirabe
Meet and pick-up then drive to Antsirabe with short visit of workshops aluminum pots manufacturing in Ambatolampy. Continuation to Antsirabe. On arrival, hotel check-in then lunch. In the afternoon, have some walk arround the city and a tour on a rickshaw. Drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2
Antsirabe
After breakfast, drive west to Betafo, the ancient capital of the Vakinankaratra to hike arround this beautiful town and Tatamarina lake. Then drive to Tritriva lake, a superb volcanic lake situated at 17 km west of the city to hike around it and enjoy the typical landscape of the region. Then continuation to Andraikiba lake, a nice peaceful place to take again some walk and visit of a silk factory. Drive back to Antsirabe. Transfert to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3
Antsirabe – Antananarivo
After breakfast, visit of miniature vehicules fashionned from recycled cans and other materials, zebu horn workshop, embroidery and a batik studio. Then visit of workshop of stone cutting to discover variery of semi-precious and precious stones. Then drive to Antananarivo, lunch en route. On arrival, transfert to your hotel. END OF THE PROGRAM
